From what I remember (it's been a while since I used patches), Yes, the ache in the arm is quite a common problem with them - in the end I started putting them on the back of my shoulders or the side of my rib cage which helped with that. I don't know why, but arms and legs hurt but no where else does.... at least for me.

The dull constant, nagging urges are about what I think of as normal for patches... Because you are getting a constant low dose of nicotine. Distraction is probably the best way forward... I always found that helped hugely, but education is a must... reading is good distraction :D

You're doing really well, just keep doing what you're doing :D

Like Stuart it is a while since I used patches. Again, I put them on my arm which left a red mark and also itched while they were on. I did what Stu did and found it a lot better. Can't say I tried the legs though.

Well done on Day 2 Sarah - you know you can do this.

All the best

Hi,

Yes the patches do cause you to have achy arms or legs which ever you put it on. Make sure you swap the part of body each day as that can help.

I know what you mean about the constant urge to smoke. It has been almost 2 months for me now and for the last 2 days have had an overwhelming urge to smoke, was worse yesterday than today so am figuring that it will be better again tomorrow (I know logically it will be as have been here before but its doesn't make it any easier to get through right now) I just keep busy, take sharp deep intakes of breath and keep telling this poxy little craving to sod off as I am bigger and better than it.

Well done on getting this far, just keep taking it hour by hour, day by day.

Hi Sarah

So pleased to see you in day two well done. I remember the ache with the patches try to leave them breath for a few mins before you put them on this helps some times. Keep going girl your doing fab. Linda xxxxxxx

Yes the ache thing happened to me to when I used patched. Like others I put them elsewhere. Mostly on the small of my back and (ahem) rear but never on the same spot within a few days of each other, as they were very irritating.

Hang on in there, you are doing great.
