Times article - NSD

Hi all

I am not sure if you saw Saturday's Times in which mentions this forum.

timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_...

Well done to Della for coming out ;) and you should be praised for promoting the work of NSD - great stuff.

Note:

After reading some recent threads in the general section, can I just say that those regulars, those "genuine quitters" who have nothing else to do but post their inane vitriolic ramblings here day after day (all day) should be ashamed. Your sole purpose seems to be the demise of the forum you pretend to cherish so much. You are all so sad.

My thoughts exactly ;)

Note to any new poster/quitter: the positive aspects of using the NSD site (especially in the early weeks) far outweigh the negatives of having to deal with the sad posters. Like any public forum this site has its fair share of dramas. ;)

Well done Della

She was given a bad time last night by some not so nice posters

Can you stop flaming? It is becoming really embarrassing.

All - To get back to topic - what is your take on the group thing? Personally I think being in the team 10 has helped. It is great to be able to share with others at the same stage as you are and is a big motivator in the first few days/weeks.

Absolutely!

I would allocate a good percentage of my (so far) successful quit down to being in Team 10 and the support I got from the majority of people on here.

;) I am quite jealous of the group meeting in a club/pub though (no offence team 10)

Me too! Me too! Don't think I would've got this far without Team 10's support and not just theirs either. There are others on here who have helped me a lot too.

I might be wrong (my memory is not what it once was) but didn't "Hunter Gatherer" first introduce the team concept on here?

I certainly know Team10 was formed directly as a result of his setting his own team up.

I wonder how he's doing?

Yes think he was in the team with Sara, Mojo 428. There is a lot of nice people from the start of the year missing it would be lovely to know how they are. xxxxxx

Yay Della, making herself and us famous :)

I do think group quitting helps. Heres a thread from a 'lil while ago on it.

Group support?????

When I did the interview for the Times regarding group quitting sessions and online forums I was honest with my views, I did say since my quit I have found this forum to be beneficial in my success and how lovely and friendly every one on there was.............. however if I had to comment now, well I just wouldn't as apart from a very few quitters on here that are genuine, the rest are just a bunch of juvenile trouble makers who are hell bent on causing trouble for others.

If I were to pop my head in here and think about quitting for the first time, and read some of these moronic posts I would certainly think again. This is such a shame as we had the support from here when we first quit but people today who quit have to find their support elsewhere.

I wish you would just stop being so selfish and just once think of how your stupid comments and bitchiness is stopping someone quitting......

Very true Della, and unfortunately, that is exactly what the trolls want! :(

Della, forgive me for prying, but you gave up in March, when the "troubles" were at their height. Perhaps you were concentrating more on your quit.

As I have stated in another thread there are in my eyes only a few trouble makers left. Im not a regular on forums, but I would guess you get them everywhere, certainly on the few I have looked at.

Please ignore them and dont let them get to you.

This place has helped you and I and countless others. We must not let the sad bitter few spoil it for the majority.

I read that Times online article, was very encouraging. Makes it easier somehow when you know others are going through similar to you.

Not what you're looking for?
