This has happend over the last 3 days and i have also walked out my job. Sometimes i feel very relaxed and other times i loose the plot. Being feel sick alot on the champix but would rather feel sick than smoke. Anyone elses experiences i would appreciate that has had side effects???

Hi jay

Well done, i used champix but cant remember any of the effects ur experiencing, maybe you should get it checked out, but you will feel 'odd' for the first few days not smoking anyway

Hi Jay and welcome to the forum.

I have quit using Champix and have been on them for 8 weeks now. The first few weeks I was taking them I was all over the place, Up down and all around mate. I found a lot of help on this board and a lot of support. Jude is right in saying take the Champix with food, It does help with the sick feeling.

As John always says mate read read read. That way you have a better idea of what to expect during your quit.

Keep going Jay, your doing great. Good luck with you’re quit

Jay

Congratulations on quitting, there are lots on the forum who have used champix, myself included, to me it is the wonderdrug, but, there are many people who have not been able to tolerate it due to the side effects. To me the side effects were worth it as the result for me is that I am now an EX nicotine addict

I have been quit for 4 Months, 1 Week, 3 Days, 12 hours, 9 minutes and 14 seconds (131 days). I have saved £1,451.14 by not smoking 6,575 cigarettes. I have saved 3 Weeks, 1 Day, 19 hours and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 06/02/2008 21:17.

The side effects for me were - sickness, felt awefully sick for around 3 weeks, sleeping patterns went to pot. yet I could fall asleep at 10am in the morning, basically I felt bad for around a month, no energy, tiredness were as bad as the sickness for me.

Callums gran or nan was on champix and swore by it - she usually replies when anyone asks about champix.

regards

Hi Jay

I also suffered from anger issues - not related to Champix but to my inability to deal with my emotions without a cigarette. It took some time to learn how to be angry "properly". The first step is for you to understand the triggers and start by training yourself without the cigarette (I destroyed paperclips and pens in the early weeks)

For the nausea - like others have said, take the pill after food.

Keep going!

How are you today Jay?

The feelings you are having may or may not be related to the Champix. Do they offer any stop smoking classes in your area? I really think talking things through in a group will help you immensely.

If they are no groups near you, however, please do stick around and talk to us.

I swear by Champix and I also swear by this site (quite a lot actually!;))
