I'm not sure if you've quit or are about to.. either way this is the place to be...we've all been through what you are going through, we know how you feel...
Do not let fact that you've smoked for 20yrs be a reason not to STOP now...
I smoked for 40 years and had the same mind set - smoked too long, its my personality etc etc...
IF YOU WANT TO QUIT YOU CAN...
But you have to really want to stop for yourself - and it sounds as if you may have some good medical reasons to quit...
If you're taking champix that'll help loads, I know, along with this forum. it's been my salvation
It's not easy but I agree with Nicky you have really got to want to do it and be determined to stay quit no matter what happens.
I failed my first attempt and simply started again the same day as Nicky and so far with the help of this forum we have both been quit ONE MONTH and ONE DAY
Jee I never would have believed it those first weeks that I would make a month
Dont you can do it if you really want to we will give you lots of support. I smoked for 33 years and was on 40 a day in the end. just take one day at a time. Linda xxxx
Nicky
Cant belieive you smoked for 40 years imagined you has being about 27 Just gose to show We dont really know who we are chatting to. linda xxxx
Good luck with your quit Rey. If your head is in the right place and you want to quit then you will make it. Educate yourself, it really does help. Since I had my addiction explained to me by AC I can't believe how stupid I was for all those years. Oh I still get my 'moments', but they are easily dealt with. Its all good.
