After 18 years as a 20 a day smoker, Friday's the day I stop.
E-cig - check
Desire - check
Indoor inhalator - check
ALOT of carrot batons - check
Good - right...here goes nothing

Hi

Good luck carol x
Good for you!
Just leap off the parapet- we'll be here to catch you. Before you know where you are you'll be flying solo.
I shall look forward to your next post. A big welcome to the forum from me.
Welcome and good luck for Friday.
Welcome sounding positive and planned it well, good luck for Friday xx
From someone who quit the same way as you are about to, I wish you every success. I was where you are 92 days ago, and still smoke free today. You can do it.
I won't lie to you and say you won't get cravings. You will. But think of it as freeing yourself from the thousands of poisons/chemicals in tobacco smoke, we get as addicted to them as we do to nicotine.
Good luck. We're here for you if you need us.
Wow - thanks very much for the warm welcome from everyone.
No real reason for it - just a sudden realisation the other day that I'm 36 meaning I've been smoking 20 a day for half my life.
Which could probably have done quite a good bit of paying off of my mortgage!
Or paid for some lovely holidays
Or a car that worked every now and again
Am well up for it and will deffo be in and around here for the next few days/weeks/months/years (hopefully!)
I think half of Essex is quitting
Welcome to the forum SHML, and good luck for tomorrow!
Steve
Welcome SHML, nearly time for what will be the best thing you'll ever stop doing, as long as you stick by it and take it day by day then after a few months the benefits you will feel are outstanding, although it won;t be easy and some days you will feel like why are you bothering but trust me, it's worth it in the long run.
Any doubts and horrible feeling or days then just post, there's usually someone around for a bit of advice.
How goes it SHML?
Hope you were able to take the plunge as planned, and that Day One is passing relatively easily.
No one here had it easy, and neither will you....... so:
1. Pride yourself you have the fortitude to address your addiction and decided to stop.
2. You know it will not be easy
3. You are ready, resigned to ride the rough because you want to stop FOREVER!
4. You know that we are all rooting for you are here to help you through this! Believe me had it not been for the wonderful people here, I would not have reached my 7-month mark - from 40+ to cold turkey was hard, really hard.
Hang in there. Be positive
God bless.. Be strong. Keep smiling
