Hello!

I'm making tomorrow my first day of not smoking and I must admit I have been reading through some of the posts with increasing bewilderment!

Still, there's lots of helpful advice from what i can see, and if it gets a bit lively from time to time then so be it

I have tried to quit twice before, so here's hoping its third time lucky!

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thanks Sue. I'll be going cold turkey. I tried patches in the past, but they just irritated my skin.

It's great that you've had such success, you must be delighted. Hopefully I will follow in your footsteps.

I imagine I'll be using the forum quite a bit. I'm hoping that support on here and a lot of willpower will make this attempt my last attempt.

I didnt really know that much about Champix, but yes, I see that Jude and quite a few others are on it.

It'll be worth considering if I can't handle the CT route. Hang on, :eek: what am i talking about - of course i can handle the CT route!! I need to be stay positive and focused!!

Good grief, I can't be talking about failure! I havent even quit yet!!

I have been quit for 1 Month, 3 Weeks, 23 hours, 29 minutes and 49 seconds (50 days). I have saved £293.11 by not smoking 1,274 cigarettes. I have saved 4 Days, 10 hours and 10 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 18/01/2008 22:30

I did what you suggested KB and didnt really find any enjoyment in that last cigarette. In a way I only smoked it as I felt I needed to go through the ceremonial 'last cigarette' thing!

I'm off to post my official day 1 thread.
