start of day five and I don't think I could have done it without everyones support on here. I wish the family understood what it's like, then again I don't because that would mean they would have had to be smokers I'm pleased they never had. Got £22.50p saved up to now.
start of day five: start of day five and I... - No Smoking Day
start of day five
it soons adds up and scares us doesn't it..?
When i started i used to check my quit counter at least twice a day but now it only comes up when i re-boot my computer. I now equate the No. of fags not smoked into boxes of 20 and then cartons of 200. So i can say things like, "i haven't smoked my personal imporation allowance or summat"
Have you set a target so that you can go and blow your saved cash on summat silly and frivolous..?
I bought a new guitar but i'm not allowed to smoke until mayday to pay for it..
Keep it up & dig deep..!
whooooooooo!! well done you!
well done you doing great
Hi Austin - glad to see there is someone else like me who doesn't believe in waiting for 'treats'! I bought a gold bracelet to wear on the first day of my quit and everytime I look at it now I remember why I'm wearing it and I would hate to have to take it off, so it was well worth buying (I've nearly paid for it already with the amount of money I've saved) (but I also had a massage and manicure to cheer myself up too - and I'm guessing that is not your idea of a treat!). Enjoy the guitar - you deserve it.
Two weeks, two days, 18 hours, 27 minutes and 13 seconds. 503 cigarettes not smoked, saving £125.77. Life saved: 1 day, 17 hours, 55 minutes.
day 6
thanks for the quit counter advice, can't believe I'm at day 6 just using the gum don't want to rely on too big a crutch as I have worries when I stop the gum, my hubby said cross the bridge when I come to it, good advice from a never has been smoker and I thought he didn't understand LOL. I'm sporting a stinking cold, do you think that's to do with the quit?
day 7
Well I'm still here day seven, dispite feeling unwell, I determinded to do it, today I missed my coffee more than a fag.
Nice one cooper. Like you I feel the support from people on here makes a real big difference. Keep it going.
Well done Cooper- keep up the good work!
I've been spending my savings in advance too - think I need to stay stopped until at least Christmas to break even now

Vike
no patches
Thanks again everyone, the patches were making me feel ill especially with this cold I have, it is my day 8 of quit, but today is day 2 of no patches, gum or anything else, it does feel harder but it's better than feeling worse because of my heavy cold. I'm hoping because of this it will be like cold turkey if I see the rest of the week out with no medicine support I may get over withdrawl quicker, your thoughts please? All I can say is gallons and gallons of water are helping me, I never drank water before only in hot drinks.
Oh! someone told me going cold turkey nicotine takes 8 days to leave your body is this true?
