What the hell.

Not had a single drag of fag this year, I exercise lightly a few times a week, I gave up coffee at the same time, I don't drink alcohol more than once a week. I even eat healthy food every day.

And you know what, I feel like shit. I still have headaches, restless nights, anger management issues, a lack of concerntration, sharp pains in the side of my chest and my breathing is WORSE than before.

Just getting a little annoyed with it all now.

Moaning. Done.

hu ya hun. :) big hugs. x x x x

I can really sympathise with you. my breathing has been awful. I actually couldn't breathe for about two whole days constant at the weekend. think its just all the crap trying to get out of your lungs.

As for anger issues, where do i start!!!! i must have been the absolute worst person to live with these past few weeks - i just cant control it! I just come on here and rant for about 3 pages solid!!! :D it really does help!

it will get better hun. what you have to remember is that you smoked for so long and put all that rubbish in to your body for such a long time that now it's going to take a while for your body to get rid of all that crap!!! it's just trying to mend itself. Shitty I know, but soooooo worth it in the end.

Keep at it babe you are doing so well. you should be proud of yourself. x x :D

Aw sutty sounds to me like you're doing great :D

No kidding pal, as annoying as they are those symptoms are still common and mean a hell of a lot of good things, like that you're body is adjusting to a brand new life with no smoking routines ;). Allow yourself some time without demanding too much from yourself, you do deserve some patience --> things WILL get better :) I read that the first 6 months are to be considered still "quitting" while the folllowing 6 months are like "maintainance" - sure month 3 and 4 aren't nearly as hard as month 1 but still, means this first lenght of time does require focus, patience, determination and positive thoughts :p

Thanks, its good to get nice advice.

I think I underestimated the whole quit thing. I thought if I do a month without them, I would magically never care for cigarettes again.

How wrong I was!!!!!

It does take a lot of getting used to. It's not just a matter of not smoking anymore, you need to adjust, to find new methods of beating stress and filling boredom. Cigarettes were never that effective at doing these things but for years we thought they were. You can't change the habits of many many years in a few weeks - but you can make a heck of a good start on it and that's what you've done.

Keep going with the healthy lifestyle and I'm sure you'll start feeling better soon. Maybe you could visit your gp just for a general check-up?

As for anger - well clearly I'm still struggling with that one. I think I'm just an angry person, whether I'm smoking or not I just have an evil temper but now there's nothing to blame it on. Am hoping that I can run it off if I go to the gym enough!
