62 days (I think)

Just squeezing into the third month at 62 days. Hope my quit partner Joanlaw is doing well. I forgot how long it was until I read one of her posts. Got to say I still feel a bit weird but I was so amazed to survive Christmas and New Year, the quit thing has almost taken second place. Keeping busy and active has really helped but in a moment of total stupidity I decided to check my weight and much as I'd like to accuse the wretched scales of downright lies, I cannot deny that my clothes seem to have shrunk - very odd, even the ones I haven't washed have shrunk! Soooooooo.........diet time for me.

Fingers crossed that everyone else is doing well. Good to see so many new quitters.

  • Hello ppl...

My name is Andrej (26) and I was smoking for 7 years 20 cigs per day. First time I tried to quit a year ago and it was relativly easy, i was a little nervous for one week and that was all. Unfortunatly i started to smoke again after few month. Afther that I spent a lot of time travelling in middle east and finishing my last exams in university and it was not unusual to finish 60cigs per day for me. When you start smoking again, you smoke much more than u did at the beginning. After i come home from my 2 months trip my lungs and hart hurted me a lot. I was a little afraid and decided to quit. Completely. But then was when the problems begun. I tought that it will again take me a week or two to quit,..i mean..to live normally without a puff. But it was not like this this time ... Im writing because im not smoking for two months now and i still fell awful. Unbelievably nervous, angry, depressive,... I still have problems with sleeping, apetite, i even got cold,...

I would like to know if someone of you guys is having the same problems after so long time? When did you start to fell really better?

    tnx /me

Yes, Yes, Yes and no. I'm sleeping better for the first time in years although the reason for this may be negative e.g. no reason to get up for coffee and cig outside watching day break. I think and hope, you just work through this. You KNOW it's irrational. Take extra vitamins and distract yourself with crosswords, diets, anything really.

  • Hi Andrej,Im in my quit for 60 something days and I have to take anxiety medicine to keep me from thinking about having a heart attack. Was in hospital because I thought that was my problem, but turned out to be anxiety.

So yes I have had problems such as yours and I am going to work through

them for my quit.good luck and maybe see a doctor just to rule other problems out.

Yes,... same problem, same solution. I also visited doctor because my "hart" hurted. I also think that my problems now have to do something with quiting taking Apaurin (valium). I didnt know that it may be so adictive...

Tnx for telling me this and sharing your opinon,...

It was very rearly that i smoked 3boxes of cigarets per day, but sometimes i did. One box for the day, one for night work and one for beer in the bar at the end of work :) ...
