This morning has been the worst for me, I can tell already I am going to be worlds biggest b!tch today.

Have packed my son off to my mums, working from home so can avoid people until 3.00pm. god help anyone that calls me today!!

Hope you all have a good day.

I can be a bigger one than you (if I was female that is).

good luck! (for the others)

Hi Love sorry I didnt see this till now but have not long come on, its normal to feel like the queen bitch I am sure you are not and even if you are this will pass and you will start to come down to ground again in no time you see if you dont, are you getting enough fluids cause trust me if you are not then you will become dehydrated as thats common in lots of quitters and once you get the fluid intake up it clears the system and detoxs you, I also cut the caffine out as well and that seemed to help and I havent gone back on it, these things are there to try, you take care xx

oh my god I have been drinking about 10 cups of tea a day since I stopped, but then again I missed tea more than alcohol and cigarettes when I was pregnant. Don't think I could give caffeine a miss (never drink coffee though).

I am feeling a little like cigarettes were my only friend (that lived within an hours drive of me anyway- recently moved!) and now not only have I dumped my only friend but that friend was trying to kill me:eek:

Do you think maybe my brain can't cope with the extra oxygen - I am slowly loosing it;)

I think that at the moment you are getting more oxygen than you have had in you system for years and you will have some of the strangest sensation believe me, you will be dizzy, tingle all over from head to feet some get violent headaches and aches and pains, have heard some say like they felt they were about to die but hand on heart you will be fine its not easy but you know that and it is a sh&%%y thing to get through but when you finally reach through the worse parts you will feel great, what are you doing today with your self xxx

Hi, day 3 for you and I know it seems tough, but it's new and unknown and anything like that can be a bit scary. I too gave up caffeine, which at least stopped my mind running away with itself when I got cravings, and I haven't gone back to it, not keen on the way it makes me feel.

I know it's easy to say, but try to stay calm, if those addictive thoughts pop in, counteract them with something, whether it's reading, singing, dancing etc. Do something to release some energy if you can, remember, we have always had bad or moody days, whether we are smoking or not, now you just have to find something else other than the cigarette to calm down with. You'll find something, and the more things you can find that make you smile and feel calm, the better it is.

Go get your son and have a good shout and laugh with him, get rid of some of that energy. It'll be day 4 tomorrow, then before you know it a week will pass, now won't that be fab!

Lorraine :)

Thank you, realised I am having a bad day generally and would be even if I was smoking. Work is too hard, my baby prefers my mum and I have a dentist appointment at 3pm - as least I am not smoking :)

Sorry shouldnt laugh but you have just summed it up, even if you were smoking you would be having a bad day, baby doesnt love your mum more its possibly like I was I worked when my first one was little and my mum looked after him so he knew her better than he knew me at first but then he started to cry after me on a monday so you see they do know who we are, Work is always cr$£ and the other we want talk about cause they are worse and they charge you LOL wait till he knows you have quit he will slap you on the back, well hyperthetically that is or you would slap him back Take care and speak later x

Well, work may be too hard, and you may well hate the dentist, but you baby preferring you mum!?!? Jamangie is right and you i'm afraid are wrong on that one.

Sorry your day is going tough, but there's still enough time to turn it around. Treat yourself to something nice to eat or whatever it is that you would consider a treat, we all deserve a little something when we're having an off day. Enjoy.

Thanks for your support everyone! Baby is in bed, cup of tea in my hand - home alone so no chance of me popping out anywhere (not that I want to) but can consider today another success!

Also had a lovely evening with my baby boy, he didn't cry for my mum when I picked him up and we played games till bedtime - I got lots of hugs and kisses - almost as if he know I needed them.

Thanks again :)

See I told you he does know, children have a sixth sense and know when you need them the same as you know when they need you, that never goes no matter how old they are mind you , you want wont him climbimg on your knee when hes 40 will you LOL glad you are starting to sound more up beat and in control keep moving forward and keep posting I think this site really helps xx

keep posting I think this site really helps xx

I agree. Keep reading and keep us up to date, folks here understand what we are going through. The help you can get here is worth so much.

Glad things have picked up, they normally do, it just doesn't feel like it will at the time. Those kids of ours can never fail to make us smile can they!

Day 5 tomorrow, close to that week now, so remember how well today turned out, stay positive and keep pushing on. We're all here for you.

One day at a time, they soon add up,
