Hi Joan, I know where you're coming from, we're the same age though I have to catch up on the grandchild front! I relish now being able to walk past the cold-handed, blue-nosed types who are standing shivering outside the pub while I stride inside for a pleasant pint in the warm!
It's worth it and you've come a long way already; Day 6!!!! .. every day is a new milestone so keep focussed on the next and before you know it, you'll be ... well, I don't really know where you'll be but it'll be a long way from here!:D
It is hard but it gets easier each time and although the thoughts may always be there like an absent friend, they will turn into less and less relavent thoughts.
Before you know it you will feel happy at the thoughts of smoking, as you are no longer bound by them.
You and me both Joan. Hang in there - day 6! By the end of tomorrow, it'll be a whole week! Unbelieveable for me and very heavy going at times, but try and plod on!
