I have failed... for now. However I plan to try again very soon, this time armed a little better.
I am starting a new job on the 29th which has excellent insurance. I will be able to get Chantix (the US version of Champix).
I am going to give it a shot. The other thing I am going to do in preparation is only smoke outside. Never in the house, never in the car, never immediately following meals. I am going to try and break those "bad" associations during the ramp up period on Chantix.
I also plan to order some Quest 3 cigarettes. They are "real" tobacco cigarettes genetically engineered to not have nicotine. (Governments should require that this be done to all tobacco in my opinion.)
I am going to smoke only those once they come in (I have to order from different states because they don't sell in my area.)
I appreciate everyones support that you had given. I feel like I had let you guys down, so I disappeared for a day again. Then I realized I had only let myself down and decided to come up with a plan for another shot at quitting.
I will be back, armed with tools and information for my next quit to make it my last.

You had a whoops and you are doing well at preparing for the next try. You will succeed if you keep trying! Never give up though ~ keep on the trying path and one day you will see that you are a non-smoker! I look forward to seeing you on here soon! Take care
Oh Sweetie you HAVEN,T failed at all. You can only fail if you don't bother trying any more which IS NOT TRUE IN YOUR CASE. I've tried to quit loadsa times b4 now but never made it past the 10 day mark.I've tried, patches, gum, zban, hypnotherapy even cold turkey (SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HARD). Point being I never quit "quitting". After so many attempts I began to think I would be a smoker for ever until my nurse gave me champix. I can honestly say Jon the stuff is the best thing ever invented. Its not a "magic pill" and you do need to put a bit of work in yourself too but the effort required is minimal (compared to ALL the other ways.I'm speaking from experience here)
Best of luck with your new quit matey. Don't be a stranger. Come back at ANY time.
Don't give up trying! We will see you back soon I hope!

Aw sorry about that, but you sound so ready and determined about your next quit, I'm getting a boost just by reading about it! I'm sure you will succeed I like it how you're plannig it in details, it's just the right attitude in order to attack and win  . I hope to see you here again very soon! Stay happy and smile.

hey... I dont want to be a bummer on these.. and I know I'am new so you can feel free o discount but I cant help but comment... tried this method once ONCE... tried to convince myself it was the act of smoking i missed not the nicotine... wow was I wrong. Cigarettes without Nicotine were NASTY. At least I learned I was addicted to the drug not the habit...
anyway best luck ... hope things work out better next go..
hehehe Agree with the above, I have had herbal tobacco before whe things seem tough! And it kinda made things worse for me
Works for a friend of mine but it isn't the nicotine she uses to get her fix if you get my meaning she puts other stuff in with the tobacco
I read this in the evening standard yesterday!
I find these things just keep you craving 24/7 rather than quitting all together, I'm all for NRT but as an aid to quitting altogether, not as a commited substitution!

Well the "other stuff" is a different story... somehow very seperate from cigs for me.... indulge occassionaly but im not so attached
For that little chineese device I think it is terrible... more nicotine than a cigarette... probably more expensive. Just perpetuates the addiction. It seems to be more for smokers who cant smoke in a specific situation than a quit aid though
Yes that is it's design, Though I reckon if I was a smoker, The day I consider paying through the teeth for a plastic glowing cig that's allowed in doors would be the day I'd go 'Hell this is madness!' time to quit
