Hello lyn x x

Welcome to site!

Congratulations on quitting :)

That's the first hurdle dealt with :D

try and find lots of things to do when you get a craving.

Read, write, clean, walk, run, scream! :D

Keep rewarding yourself with treats.

Stay strong and keep busy :)

Hi Lynttrl,

Welcome to the site. xxx

Everyone is swell here, really helpful. We are all in the same boat, we all crave a fag, but coming on here has made it a lot easier for me. You'll find great tips to help you, and by reading some of the threads you'll see that we are all the same.

Good luck, take care, B xx

I'm on day 11 cold turkey! Unfortunately, the last few days have been the worst. I thought it would get easier. I have not smoked though :) If i get really on edge, I have something small to eat, then try to find something constructive to do to keep my mind off. The good thing is, the craving does pass pretty quickly if i keep busy. Keep up the good work as so will I!!!

Lynttrl,

welcome to our humble abode, i have given up with champix, which is great, but i have to say, it does drag the whole procees out a bit!!!!! I gave up before, cold turkey, and i was ok after 8 weeks, but this time, after 15 weeks i dont feel i am at that stage yet!!!! :( maybe its an age thing, or a bad memory, but whatever

Good luck to u xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi lynttrl,

welcome and congrats on making the greatest decision for your life :) I hope you're doing well. I quit 54 days ago, cold turkey like you, and it's a method I'm liking very much because it allows you to feel like a complete non-smoker immediately after your last cigarette. I mean, after the last one, you're definitely done with nicotine and everything associated with smoke, and that's it and all you have to do is --> nothing at all :D Of course it's just a mind trick, as other methods are as good and to each their own anyway, but mind tricks seem to work pretty good with me :p , I hope it'll work for you too. Be strong, but make sure to also enjoy every moment of every day of your new smoke-free life!
