Dear All,

It gives much pleasure in finding and joining a forum such as this.

It has been quite inspirational to read some great stories and the manner all of you have given such great support to each other.

Rather than share the reasons why I will quit (as I'm sure it has been covered many times);

I simply will tell you that by the end of Thursday night, I hope to join you as non-smoker.

Ari

congrats on your making the move to quit next Thursday

Feel free to tell us why you are wanting to quit because it will help fortify your reasons for you

will be looking out for you and there is no hoping about it, you WILL!!!!!! be joining us :D

Thank you both for your support.

Top 10 Reasons to Quit Smoking

1. I will reduce my chances of having a heart attack or stroke.

2. I will reduce my chances of getting lung cancer, emphysema, and other lung diseases.

3. I will have better smelling clothes, hair, breath, home, and car.

4. I will climb stairs and walk without getting out of breath.

5. I will have fewer wrinkles.

6. I will be free of my morning cough.

7. I will reduce the number of coughs, colds, and earaches my child will have.

8. I will have more energy to pursue physical activities I enjoy.

9. I will treat myself to new books or music with the money I save from not buying cigarettes.

10. I will have more control over my life.

And the 11th reason is I love Life, and I want to enjoy it with my family and Friends. Mind you, there is plenty of unfinished business yet to do.

Don't go just yet

Dickyboy - stop scaring the chicks off when they're telling each other how much they love each other. They don't need to get a room! Don't drive their love underground!

Dear Boudee,

What can I say? But thank you and all to the others who have passed on a message.

I am about to go to bed (10.30pm in Australia now)

And that will be it. I no longer smoke!

Welcome Ari!

I hope the quit is going well! If it is tell us all about it! If it isn't, tell us all about it - the folks on here are an AMAZING support group.

I like your quote. I like it a lot. It reminds me of a phrase a neighbour of mine in Leeds uses often

"There are plenty of years left untouched."

...and with your decision you are sure to have many more to complete your 'unfinished business.'

Congratulations on your decision.
