I am pulse transplant it for five months now and my creatinine has been 1.1 ever since it’s never been as low as yours, my nephrologist stated to me that she believes that that’s going to be my base.. have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns
Yes that could be it because I am always having my meds adjusted as well. Do you know our bodies are just trying to adjust to a New foreign Organ. Good luck!! 😊
Your body will take 1 year to know it has a new kidney. Just your blood alone will take 7-8 months to be fully replaced with with new cells, after getting rid of all the toxins you have accumulated in the past many years. That is why you will continually have tests - that is intended to check signs and adjust medications.
You will continually have fluctuations of results throughout your life - and meds will be adjusted to take care of those fluctuations. You have to accept and live with it.
You have to take a more holistic view - ask your Nephrologist -
1. overall how are you doing - the important thing is no rejection or further complications.
2 . what signs should you watch out for deterioration.
Remember, the alternatives (or where you were before your transplant): dialysis, worries on transplant surgery, poorer quality of life, etc).
Do not worry on things you cannot control. Enjoy life but follow the rules associated with being a kidney transplanted individual.
It can fluctuate, but if you're staying hydrated, taking meds as prescribed, etc. then it seems a bit odd to be rising like that. I'd get in touch with your doc. You can always get another opinion too. Mine was steadily rising also until we found out I had a stent still in that was way overdue to come out. Hopefully nothing that extreme for you, but you have every right to feel concerned.
I'm post going on 31 years and my creatinine runs between 1.2 and 1.7 and has been that way for years. Everyone will have a different baseline that the doctors will monitor for real drastic changes but if you've been running that way for a while it more than likely is okay. Lots of factors can raise creatinine and BUN. Talk to your doc and see if they recommend anything.
