Fiancé is in desperate need of a kidney

My fiancé was born with a hereditary kidney disease. He’s been on dialysis for 3 years and is in dire need of a kidney. He’s been so positive and happy during this time , he even started a business this year all while being on dialysis. It’s been very inspiring to watch!

Hi Nicky, are you a match for your partner? What about asking all family members, friends, work colleagues? Yes it’s a big ask but they’d be giving the gift of life with little change in their lives. I’m 67. I donated to my son 2.5 years ago. If I could, I’d donate again. If you’ve not thought about getting tested, look into live donation cases. Good luck to you both

You need to do the work looking for a kidney. Bassetmommer is correct - everyone on this site is in need of a kidney or already had their GIFT OF LIFE.

When I needed a kidney I went to everyone at my work, my church, my woman's club and my family. You have to tell his story to everyone. I had a friend and my cousin come forward willing to give me a kidney. I got my transplant from a deceased 16 year old. I am 24+ years post transplant doing well.

Have you been tested as a potential donor? Even if you are not a match - there is such a thing as a domino transplant. You give a kidney and someone that matches your fiancé gives him a kidney. Google DONATE LIFE AMERICA They are a non-profit that register people that need a transplant and also those that are willing to give a kidney. Americakidneyfund.org also has a lot of info about living donation. I would start looking at NKF's site kidney.org/transplantation/...

I do know of someone that got a kidney by putting a sign out in their yard of their need. A neighbor came forward and gave a kidney.

You need to be outspoken about his need and tell EVERYONE you know and those you don't
