Leg pain in dialysis patients

I am on twice a week dialysis and experiencing continuous leg pain and weakness. I am taking multivitamins, iron supplements but not much relief. Any idea how to tackle this pain?

You need to let your Clinic know...They may be pulling too much fluid to quickly

Its around 2.5 litre in 4 hrs which is not too much.

Actually 2.5 l is quite a lot.I do about 1 to 1.5 and get cramp in my legs really bad.

My dialysis centre in London prescribes a quinine tablet during treatment which works great.

Cramp is agony otherwise.

2.5 is a bit too much. I would suggest going down to 2.0 at the most unless you went way overboard with your fluids, still, you will get off any excess the next treatment.

I had leg weakness when walking, but not pain. It would last 2 to 3 weeks, then go away and return a month later. My dialysis nurse and Dr. had no explanation. They said they didn’t see anything in labs that would cause it. They made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal, I thought kit was scary. If I pushed it, they would have sent me to some kind of specialist, I’m sure. I’m sorry. I hope you can get to the bottom of this.
