Has anyone here got kidney disease and taking glaucoma eye drops? If so, have you any advice as to which eye drops least affect kidney function. Or what the risks are with Stage 3a CKD?

I am taking Timilol eye drop for eye pressure for several years and my Opthamologist knows of my CKD. Let us know what your eye Doctor says about any relationship to your glaucoma drops and CKD.

Les gouttes pour les yeux s appellent hylo dual en gel, et hylo night en tube creme

Aren't Hylo night just eye lubricating drops, not glaucoma drops?

You have to speak with your eye doctor. They will advise accordingly due to your health issues and the pressure in your eyes.

My transplanted hubby takes the "blue cap" eyedrops for high pressure: dorzolamide and timolol maleate. Right now, hubby takes a myriad of drops from several bottles - blue, brown, pink (now replaced for a time with yellow) because he's going though cataract surgeries. He's drowning in eyedrops, lol. His npeh isn't concerned about any of this, stating the effect is largely external, not internal. But we notify him anyway. After everything settles down, he'll return to the blue and pink bottles for life. His labs are stable. This whole situation occurred because of shingles! People, get that vaccine if you haven't done so!

Hi Steve, I live in NZ. I was diagnosed with glaucoma in 2003 and have been on drops since then, presently on 3 drops twice a day. In 2004 I had a kidney removed due to a benign tumour. My function has been good until recently and am presently having investigations for low EGFR & urine albumin. My creatinine is at the top end.

So to answer your question, the drops haven't made a difference to my kidney function thus far.

Thanks for that Vicket. I hope the investigations find the cause of the low eGFR.
