Hi!! My mom who is 53 years old diabetic and has high blood pressure too. However, she is very particular about her diet and because of that her sugar levels are normal. Her bp level hovers around 130/85 to 140/90 (on average).
She's been doing Creatinine test every month and her creatinine level has been like this:
1.2, 1.1, 1, 1.1, 1.2 (latest January 2023 test). Although the test report indicates that the level is a normal range (for women 0.6-1.2), it's been constantly above 1. (As a small info, she eats meat too). This constant level above 1 worries me. I would like my mom to bring this level down to at least 0.9.
However, am I worrying for nothing? Should I stop worrying? Do you recommend my mom go for complete kidney health checkup. Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

Absolutely they’re nothing to worry. I have been through this entire journey including transplant.
Your moms levels are absolutely fine. Yea, keeping a watch is a great idea. Keeping H1A1C within grange and so the BP. Eat healthy and do normal exercise. Going vegetarian would be the best thing and eat meat as treat. She would never have to through my journey.
NOTHING TO WORRY. Wishing you mom a good health. Am 52 and I can understand your concerns.
She is doing great! Everyone on this site wishes their creatinine was a 1.0 -1.2. She should talk with her primary doctor regarding her BP, though. Now they want your BP to be under 130/80. Even slightly elevated BP can cause Kidney and heart issues
No need to worry. Your mom is amazing - she's controlling her health beautifully and her creatinine levels are fine; they are remaining constant. She's apparently keeping a close eye on her sugar and carbs which is exceptionally important for diabetics. It's the glucose that ruins the kidneys and she's keep it in the normal range. Much respect to your mom.
Wouldn't worry about the Creatinine levels which are pretty steady. However, she should work on getting her BP down a bit which will help her kidneys too.Is she on any BP meds?
