I've been on PD dialysis for 16 months, very compliant, have diabetes (controlled) and hypertension (controlled). I have been experiencing significant pain in my feet and ankles nightly around 4am. Painful to even walk but the pain abates over the morning. I'm pretty sure it's neuropathy. I already take the max of gabapentin (for renal reasons) but it's not helping. Anyone know of pain control options as I would prefer to avoid prescription pain medication for the obvious reasons. Deciding whether to go to Podiatrist, Neuorlogist, or Pain Specialist. Any advice is appreciated.

Fleo, please check your PTH level. High PTH level may cause bone weakness and pain. But it can be controlled with medicine.
Assuming that you already are sleeping with your feet elevated, you might try what I use for pain control, and that is acupuncture. For more than ten years now I have to take meds(Tylenol) only now and then for an occasional headache. Be sure that your acupuncturist is really qualified and not just someone who went to Mexico for a couple of months as a sideline for a chiropractor.
