I just joined. My kidneys are at 10-12 EGFR and I am striving to find a living donor. I have some resources to do so, but I am wondering what others have done to search for a living donor. I also wonder what others in this situation have done for transportation to a major transplant center, specifically Perelman Center for Advance Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. I have trouble finding people to help with that. Thank you.

Hi, i had a friend who did a fb campaign with my story and she hired a photographer to take pictures of me at home so people could have a picture of my life. I got several donor volunteers and my cousin really wanted to do it and we were a match. That was 2 years 8 months ago. My GFR was 2
I'm so happy you got your kidney and all is well. I'm waiting no dialysis yet gfr is 12 hoping to get a kidney prior to dialysis. Almost had one a couple months ago, but things just didn't work out so it didn't happen. That's all we can do is wait. I'm so hoping they get busy on the bioartificial kidney I think it's very promising if they can get funding.
Same thing happened to me. Had someone lined up and they ghosted me after testing . But about 3 months later my cousin contacted me that she wanted to be my donor. It was Gods plan!
Here is a link from NKF on living donation called “How to Make the Ask.” It outlines all the steps necessary to seek a living donor for transplantation. NKF and sites like it have good info on how to run a campaign to find a living donor. My best to you on you journey to a living transplant!
