I am a 50 y/o, F just diagnosed in 2/18 with stage 3 CKD. My GFR is 30. Unknown cause. Nephrologist wants to do a kidney biopsy but cant because I have stones. Urologist has done a laser surgery, but the stones didn't pass. I don't have a blockage currently so Urologist wont remove stones. In the last 60 days I have had A blockage that resulted in septic shock. Question is...Should I seek a 2nd opinion to have stones removed?

By all means, get a second opinion. Those stones will damage your kidney. There is medicine you can take to also help with stones. Do not suffer with them, see someone who can help you before your kidney is permanently damaged.

Thank you! I made an apt with a kidney specialist from the Cleveland clinic.
