Live in Cyprus. I’m a Brit aged 70 with Diabetes and COPD. I AM ON OXYGEN AND AM TOLD I MUST LOSE WEIGHT. IM CURRENTLY 101 kilos so quite a bit to lose.
Any help would be appreciated as never needed to diet before, weight gain because of steroid medication.

Has your doctor suggested that you eat either a low carb-high fat or low carb-high protein diet? Are you type 1, 1.5 (LADA) or type 2? What was your A1c (3-4 month blood drawing for 90 day blood sugars)? When was your last appointment with the doctor?
For the next appointment, please show the free leaflets from the Diabetes Research And Wellness Foundation (DRWF) to your doctor. They can be downloaded/read and listened to at anytime. Go to: drwf.org.uk/understanding-d...There's the "Exercise and Diabetes" and "Diet and Diabetes" leaflets for weight/diet. I hope this helps.
I'm afraid being on steroids is likely to make weight loss quite difficult for you and you haven't said what form of diabetes you have, but I'm guessing Type 2.

If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
