Unexpected

I am having an unscheduled day off due to my daughter being sick in school yesterday - I have not had a day off for a while and am thinking how best to make use of my time in between emptying the sick bucket and tending to a child who is milking it for all its worth. I have so many things i want to do but i know that i will inevitably end up doing housework and not the exercise that i really need to be doing. The joys of being a working mum!

Oh dear Silentninja,

That doesn't sounds good. I suggest, if you really want to do some housework, you allot yourself some time for that AND some time for the exercise. You will probably end up watching a film with your daughter and doing nothing else lol.

I hope she recovers soon :)

My time mangement leaves a lot to be desired and i am alway so very tired, i start out with the best intentions but i always seem to find a way of not doing what i set out to do! I am sure i will get the hang of it at some point.

if your tired, make the most of having a day to sit about, the housework will still be there another day, even if you do it, it will still be there another day! :)

If you are twiddling your thumbs you could always pop over and say hello on our daily news and chat thread What’s Happening 😊

How about putting on some lively music (not loud enough to disturb your daughter) and having a bit of a bop to get your heart pumping?

Then a bit of quiet chill-out with a book or mag for relaxation?

I agree with lucigret, if you're tired, give yourself a bit of a break with a film or a book/magazine.

Then you could do one of those YouTube 15 minute walks with Leslie Sansone or similar to liven up. Whatever you do, make the most of your enforced day at home: the housework would have got done sometime, anyway :)
