Hello

I have just signed up for losing weight as I am not happy looking like my daughter did when she was full term with her pregnancy! I used the BMI calculator and am officially obese weighing in at 15st 2Ibs with a height of 5ft 9ins. (Sorry but I can't relate to metric measures).

I have also been a type one diabetic on insulin for 39 years so over the years found myself going for the foods that are low in carbohydrates but not necessarily low in calories. I also travel a lot with my job and have had way too many hotel meals over the years, so it's time to make a change and get myself to a more healthy weight again :-). I also broke my ankle in April and it's still sore so that has affected my ability to walk as much as I would like but do swim a couple of times a week.

So good luck to all you other calorie counting dieters on here, lets give ourselves plenty of encouragement as I know from past experience how hard it is to maintain the enthusiasm.

Regards

Steve

Hi and welcome Steveco50 I can't do metric measurements either ;) well done on already finding the BMI calculator - did you see the calorie range it suggested for you to eat? we suggest you start near to the top of the range to start with :)

Sorry to hear your ankle is still sore

Welcome Steveco50 this is the right place to come for support. We are all here for the same reason, we have let our weight get the better of us.

Sorry to hear about your ankle, I hope the swimming helps.

You know well enough that low carbs is important to you and I am no expert on eating as a diabetic. You might find some interesting things on the Daily Diary, or indeed be able to comment on what others have planned, this is one way we help each other.

For me the most important thing is coming on regularly and joining in.

Enjoy your journey.
