This week has been a big change for me, I've started healthy eating, been to a Boxercise class on Monday (and enjoyed it) now a weekly thing, signed up to a Cardio class 24th October for 8 weeks and spent 20 mins on my treadmill Tuesday Wednesday Thursday. I'm feeling pretty good with myself, if I can do this anyone can.

Of course you can.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the boxing and running. All you need is a skipping rope and you can consider yourself a real title contender.

Lol, thank you 😊

You're welcome. Joking aside, though, a skipping rope is an incredibly cost-effective and fantastic way to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength/endurance. Once you develop rhythm/co-ordination, you'll be amazed at the difference they make. Consider why boxers repeatedly use them.

I might just give that a try 😊

Concentrate on working up to skipping for 30-60s, followed by 30s rest. Once the rope is spinning fast enough, exercising heart rate should enter its anaerobic zone, as the body begins to rely upon stored glycogen and existing fat to fuel exercising muscles, in the absence of a steady supply of oxygen (think HIIT).

Just had a look at some HIIT routines, I like the look of those short intense exercises.

They're good. Just ensure that your HIIT routines don't exceed 25 minutes, since continuing for longer can result in a catabolic effect (where the body begins to break down existing muscle mass to fuel activity).

Yay shazzaellis you are on a roll with the exercise - glad you enjoyed the class on Monday :)

5 days til you start your group in Brandon - are you going to join in a weigh in on here as well?

Wishing you all the best :)
