Hi, I have just stumbled across this page. In 2012 I lost quite a bit of weight with slimming world (2.5 stone) and that has gradually crept back up again. I turn 40 March 2018 and I want to to be healthier. I have lost 2.7kg since Jan 2st and I am now down to 92kg. I am tracking calories on Myfitness pal. My main struggle is the booze. I am only having a drink on a Friday or Saturday and I am just having Gin and Low Calorie tonic. I don't really eat meat, I have a mainly vegetarian diet with some fish and seafood.
Looking for inspiration on the off days and success stories.

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you would be very welcome to join any, bar Monday and Tuesday, which are unfortunately full. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

Hi munky . You've come to the right place. I've just started my 3rd week and have lost 8lb so far by counting calories. As for booze, I enjoy a bottle or 2 of red wine a week. Just as long as I count and include the calories then all is good. I don't rigidly stick to my daily allowance but as long as I am within my weekly allowance then that's fine. So say, my daily allowance is 1420 a day, I can easily get by on 1000 on 2 or 3 days, which makes up for my 1 or 2 bottles of wine at 610 calories each. On the days I do have a bottle, I have extra healthy food so not as many calories but still eating properly and maybe go over my allowance by 100 cals But still sticking within my weekly 9940 calories. Hope this makes sense. I even indulge in the odd 4 finger Kitkat which is 213 calories. All my other food and drink is very healthy and it's WORKING!!
