Hi everyone , just had my first blip yesterday after six weeks of my twelve week program. Trying to decide was it not having breakfast , not planning my day, looking after grandchildren or just tiredness !!!!!! Biscuits, apple crumble n cream following a roast dinner. Thanks for being here πŸ˜‰

Hi Ganny. I think 1 blip in 6 weeks is not really a bad ratio. We all have bad days and it sounds like you had a combination of things that led to your slip up. I remember moreless saying this to me once when I confessed to having a bad day - "Sometimes muffin, we hang onto the reins so tightly, that when we slacken that grip slightly, the horse bolts" It made sense to me and she also said to just draw a line under it and start fresh again the next day. I think the main thing is that you recognised the fact that you went off track and you can get back on it today. As long as you have a downward trend in your weight loss and don't give up. Well done for completing 6 weeks of the NHS program - here's to the next 6! Best of luck and have a great day :)

Been there, done that in the past. I too am at about the same stage as you, and just love biscuits and apple crumble !!! Two of my favourites. I have only had one or two biscuits since starting Winter Solstice Challenge though. Came on this site when I really wanted biscuits one evening. I would advise that avenue, or most of all, just forget about yesterday's "blip", take it as enjoyment and could well have been tiredness and resume the healthy eating straightaway. Do not beat yourself up about it. Just carry on and be consistent.

If you are calorie counting the "blip" could have been part of your allowed calories, I don't know. What is important is to realise that today is a new day, have a healthy breakfast and carry on. Healthy lunch today and healthy dinner/tea today, and tomorrow and next day if you can.

Hi, I often have a roast dinner at the week ends and sometimes a crafty dessert, it's not the end of the world, it's just down to portion size. I still weigh everything so I know I'm not having too much for my calorie allowance. You are right, planning is the key.

Must remember that, just trying not to weigh food around young granddaughters. But will definitely go for a smaller portion of everything , so as not to starve myself in prep for weekend. Is a dessert a treat or a reward ? Thankyou for your help.

I am dreadful if I don't eat enough at breakfast and lunch πŸ˜• Seem to eat all afternoon πŸ˜•

All you can do is draw a line under it and move forward 😊😊😊

Ahh thanks for your help , watch this space weigh in tomorrow 😜

Tiredness also tends to lead to over eating in my case πŸ˜• Apparently due to low leptin levels (appetite controlling hormone) πŸ˜•

Good luck with weigh in tomorrow 😊

Hi, the great Rosemary Conley says "don't let a lapse become a collapse".

Therefore, the best thing to do with your blip is to forget it ever happened. Mentally turn the page in your mind, and start the following day as though nothing went wrong yesterday. If your regular plan is working for you, then it will continue to work. The worst that will happen is that you hit target one day later than planned - hardly a huge issue.

All the best.
