My primary care did listen when I asked him how he knows it’s not occipital neuralgia instead of migraines but said only my neuro can decide. He did give my a low round of prednisone. Told me to increase magnesium and we discussed migraine treatments if needed.
Yesterday I had 7 hours of bliss with no headaches. Made up for it today with nonstop headaches.
I slept through my mri Monday so that was great.
Guess I wait until August 5 for my neuro to give me suggestions.

Sorry about your headaches. I have had MS for 20 years and I have a headache every day. So that being said I have to believe it is from MS, although my neurologist says no. I hope you get answers.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. Migraines are horrible. Hope you get answers from your Neuro at your appointment. Keep us updated when you can.
I am so sorry that your headaches are affecting you so bad. I have had reoccurring headaches since 1987. After all of this time, my new Neuro finally listened to me. Mine are 'some' form of migraines. She prescribed Ajovy, an monthly injection. We tried some pills with no effect at all. But the shot works for me. Doesn't take them away totally but alot of relief. I also do alot of stretching, too.
Okay, I hope your Neurologist can give you maybe a clearer picture and treatment plan that’s right for you! Nurtec is very good for migraines; just need pre authorization approval because it’s expensive! Blessings. NeeC
I live in Shropshire England so very lucky to have NHS - the problem with Prednisone is it blanks any problems pain etc you have so I would say can you take a stronger pain killer instead and wait until you have your appointment on the 5th once you know what it is then discover anything and everything that you can take. Back in Feb I was really poorly sent into hospital for checks and the neurologist wanted to give me Prednisone but I said No nut until I have a firm and accurate diagnosis and so glad I did that as in the meantime a full MRI has shown up more problems this time with my spine showing cervical Stenosis
Try not to stress 5th is not far away & let me know how you get on
