So my favorite position at the Post office was trainer to the new hires, I really enjoyed helping them get started on a career that I loved.... well at least most of them, there were definitely a few exceptions, but we won't go there. So one of my fellow trainers told us at a training workshop about a new carrier he had who was very energetic, and tried very hard to do a good job with the mail, so he goes through the classroom training gets good marks and continues with on street training and is seeming to grasp all of the little difficulties of sorting and handling and delivering mail. So he is finally out on a route by himself and everyone is confident that he will do great ( mind this is pre cell phone days) anyway it gets a little late for him to finish, and the supervisor sends a couple of senior carriers out to check up on him, they return unable to find him anywhere on the route, so another carrier in the vicinity is told to check on him, same result... finally it is getting really late and people are quite concerned now, so the supervisor calls his home... the carrier picks up on the first ring... dumbfounded the supervisor asks" what happened out there? are you ok?", the new carrier responds, no nothing is wrong, he is fine but " it's raining"

He boss called and asked what he was doing and he replied, finished my list and went home. Hahahaha, his boss said he needed to check in when finished he had a second listπ Luckily he went back next day and his boss sat him down and explained it πππ
We had a wonderful garbage company here. One man drove the truck responsibly, picked up our trash by himself, set the cans upright, and took anything we set out. The township decided to hire a different company. There are 3 men per truck now. They move in slow motion, intentionally block the road, and leave messes every week. And we discovered they don't work when it snows. I'm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
