GRRR π !! So I called my insurance today (Meridian/Medicaid) to schedule transportation to and from my upcoming appointments this month, starting on Thursday, the 6th, thru the end of the month. They said I'm on the bus line so I can get bus passes for my appointments, they will mail them to me. Really? I have an MRI on Sunday the 12th, at 7:15 am, but the bus on my street doesn't run on Sundays. I told them that, and I also need to see my neuro, and both PT/OT on the 6th, Thursday. I gave them the three days (48 hours) notice required to get transportation. So, even if they mail the bus passes out today, I won't receive them for 4-7 business days, according to them. So what the HE## am I supposed to do if I don't get them before my appointments this week?? I have already missed 3 appointments in the past week, for OT/PT and Brain MRI, cuz they said they didn't have a driver available at that time. I know for sure that I can't freakin walk there, it's too far away from me, and I sure as he## don't have money to pay for a bus or taxi. Uggh π΅

Medical Insurance Transportation Sucks!!
Where do you live? Maybe one of us is close enough to help with transportation. I'm in the Charleston South Carolina area. The fact that you're on a bus route is useless if it doesn't run when you need it.
I agree with you that sucks π . Seems like youβre just a # at the insurance company and they pass the buck and donβt care π€·πΌββοΈ. Like Peruzzot says maybe you live by one of us and we can help? Let us know and I pray it works out ππ. Ken πΎ
You should have asked for a supervisor and if that didnβt help call the insurance company since they have a contact with them.
I live in Grand Rapids Michigan, in the city limits, but about 4 miles away from the Neuroscience Center where my appointments are. My insurance company, Meridian, is who I spoke to, not a transport company. That is where I am getting the bus passes from. They wouldn't get me a ride from a transport company since I am on the bus line. Idiots π
Have you called the transportation place yourself Bamfan1442 ? They might be more able to help?!π€π

UPDATE: The insurance company finally found me a ride today, through a different transportation company, to my appointments but only because I didn't get the damn bus tickets in the mail yet! It was a long day though π© And of course, my ride came earlier than expected π My neuro appointment was at 10:15, about 5 miles away, but they came to pick me up at 9:15, so I got there almost an hour early. Then, I also had back to back appointments for Physical therapy at 1:00, and Occupational therapy at 2:00. Had to call the transport company when I was done, at 3:15 pm, to pick me up. As for my brain MRI on Sunday at 7:30 am, my Neuro's nurse, Shelly, is going to pick me up and stay with me at radiology until I'm done! God Bless her, she's a sweetheartπ don't know what I'd do if she wouldn't have graciously offered to help me out with that! She said it's very important that I get that MRI done ASAP so my neuro can send the results into my insurance, in order to get final approval for Ocrevus and start the infusions ASAP!! Sorry so long and late, it's been a long day and I'm feeling overwhelmed with all of the day's events. Had to clear my brain before I posted this!π²π
Glad to hear it worked out for you. But the insurance company shouldn't have given you all that run around inn the first place.
Awe, thanks Jes! β€πͺπ―
