I saw my new Neuro today and I really liked him! He went through my chart so he could get to know me and my MS. He had me do ALL the different tests when I saw him...walking 25 ft, walking one foot in front of the other, standing on tippy toes, heels, closing eyes, all the reflexes, touch, hearing. He ordered blood work to check how my levels are for Tecfidera since it was only checked once last April before started Tecfidera. Instead of increasing the baclofen he has prescribed the generic of Tegretol twice a day. If that doesn't help after 2 weeks I can take 2 pills twice a day. I have an MRI scheduled for the 25th of this month to make sure I don't have any new lesions and the Tecfidera is doing its job.
When I asked him about steroids for my next migraine he said that he prescribes pill form steroids instead of solumederal. He said to call the office the next time I feel a migraine coming on and he will prescribe that for me
Now I just hope all my blood work comes back good and MRI is stable. He answered all my questions. Very happy!
**Forgot to add that the neuro was the one that ordered the bloodwork and when he entered into the computer, he entered it as I was getting it done in the office so when I went down to the lab to get it done, I was sitting there what seemed like forever. The one that registered me and the lab gal figured it out and got me back right after that. I will be sure to tell him about that when I see him at my 4 month recheck appt. in November.
