Tomorrow might be the dreaded shot(vaccine) I am terrified once again. I will get Pfizer. There was once a post of people that had the vaccine and if they had any side effects. I cant find it, even after searching for it. Can i ask again. I am so scared. But I also know soon you need to have one to go anywhere. Please let me know your experiences good or bad. My General dr said to take a zyrtec before shot
And advice is greatly appreciated
Cheers and I'll take prayers
Thank you

i was told not to take anything allergy related until after the shot. the reason is they want you to stay a bit after you get it and see if your body has any strong reaction to it; if you've taken an antihistamine beforehand, it could dampen a dangerous side effect that will emerge after you've left the doctor.
First off try very hard to not be scared, What is it that you are scared of? I had both the Pfizer shoots with absolutely no negative effects. She who must be obeyed felt a little off for a few hours but had a drink of water and went to sleep and was fine. Treat it like any injection, be well hydrated before and after. Have a full stomach and you will be fine, do not be scared.
I am scared i will die. Yeah I am a chicken of all new medicine. Getting better but still terrifed. I try not to watch the news but happened to see someone died from vaccine again. Ugh
I encourage you to go get the vaccine soon. These new covid variants aren't playing games. My cousin was in the ICU for 2.5 weeks with covid before eventually dying. He was healthy EMT/firefighter and covid took him from his family at 51 years old.
I am anti vaccination before Covid but this is too scary for so many reasons. Maybe you get it recover but maybe you give it to someone your greatly care about and they don’t recover. I have young grandkids and a mother in her 90 s I’m doing it for them more than I am for me.
The less anxious you are, the easier this will be. Easy for me to say, difficult for you I'm sure. But: the shot itself is painless; the side effects are mild (if any) and quickly dissipate; you are safer with any of the vaccines than without; vaccinated people may be infected with the virus, but they are unlikely to be hospitalized or die (this is not true for the unvaccinated); the sooner most folks are vaccinated, the sooner we can emerge from pandemic. You can do this, even if not for yourself, for every single child under the age of 12 who cannot yet be vaccinated.
Yep, safe. Worst that happened arm a bit sore first shot. A little fever shot 2. Yeah! Sign it's working! Worried a bit that nothing was happening. After flue like symptoms for 2+ years from my last DMT's, this was a walk in the park. And now I can do so less fearful of dieing from Covid walking the parks. Don't put it off. I drove 200 miles round trip 2x to get my shots. And they weren't even offering a beer to go with it then. Some areas nearby offered that as an incentive. Get a shot and a beer! That's okay, I really don't like beer.
I had 2 Moderna in march and i just had a sore arm for 1-2 days. And i just got over having covid delta variant which i say it was the variant because my symptoms were a runny nose not coughing, and my covid was very mild. So i was thrillled i was vaccinated! I think I’d caught it from my son’s 15 year old friend who tested positive after sleeping over the weekend before. Id gotten tested because id brought my son to be tested. Then i came back positive and my son was negative (thank God). That was 3+ weeks ago and i feel better from covid now
Thank you everyone. I am ready to get the vaccine. I fell Saturday and am pretty bruised up. Once i can move again, i will go. Thank you for making me feel better. 🙏
I had the Pfizer and for both shots I had a fever that night. I was fine by morning. I had the same reaction when I had my shingles shots as well. I didn't have the best night, any of the times but I felt it was better than getting sick and will most willingly get a booster if they say it's needed. I just get it on a Friday so I have the weekend to recover if I need extra time.
Jkdavid99, I had both Pfizer shots back in February. Someone said to bring Tylenol and a bottle of water, then take the Tylenol about 15 minutes before your shot. Stay hydrated and take care of yourself. I was fortunate and had zero side effects, except for a sore arm for a day or so. If they say that we warriors need a booster, I plan to be standing in that line waiting for my shot. No regrets here! You will be fine. Hugs and prayers coming at you!
