does anyone else have these symptoms and what do you do to help them?

I have constant hypnic jerks when trying to sleep and occasionally neck/head whole body type random jerks when awake that last literally seconds. How can I help this

and constantly feel off balance and dizzy with neck/head pain. Also a tingling down one side of my face x

Did you get the urgent referral appointment to see a neuro scheduled yet since your a&e visit? Are you on meds that could cause or worsen these symptoms? I dont experience this but hopefully someone will have ideas for you.

Can't provide anything productive, but I've had many instances over the years of the random jerks, both wide awake and drifting off to sleep. There's never been any pain, though, and they don't seem to follow a specific pattern.

Spasms? Yes. For the most part they are not painful. However, on the days that they go on and on they can get annoying and a bit painful. I mostly get them in my legs, occasionally on the side of my knee, when I get them in my "Shneck" area (shoulder neck) those ones are always painful. The newest location was one in my armpit. And I do get one in my lower back. I do know that regardless of the amount of spasms throughout the day that if they get worse suddenly than your position needs to be changed (usually because I am laying on my back) because a certain nerve is pissed off. I hope after all that there was at least one word that was helpful.

"a certain nerve is pissed off" has just become my new catchphrase!

I take baclofen, 3 times daily with an extra one at bedtime when needed. That helps a lot! I'm able to get a proper night's sleep now 😊

I agree. I take baclofen and Gabapentin, 3 times a day. They all help control my muscle spasms and nerve pain. My legs rest and I sleep good too. I am thinking about getting the baclofen pump. πŸ‘

Ah! I've not yet got that far, so the baclofen pump is definitely on my list for when the time comes 😁

My neurologist suggested the baclofen pump to me, and he has sent a referral to the Doctor who does it. I am ready cause both of my legs are killing me. 😭

I live in the UK, so stuff like that is not readily available on the NHS.

My neuro sends in an rx to my insurance company and I get it filled that way. I now have to take a lower dose (10mg) 5 times a day because my previous Neuro didn't want to increase the dose I was taking 3 times a day. I didn't think it would work but I was pleasently surprised :)

I've got the NHS to pay for every prescription for me, so I don't understand insurance.

Hello my friend, might be a good idea to contact your doctor. Could be a flare symptom trying to rear its ugly head, or medication interacting. Be encouraged and let us know your outcome. NeeC

Talk to your neurologist. He can help more than I can

I take tizanadine with gabapentin faithfully. If I miss a day, I β€˜m OK but if I miss more than that, the spasms get really bad. Ask your neurologist for help.
