Neuro office does not think my sudden vision issue is from Aubagio but does think it is probably MS. I know we can have optic neuritis but I have been checked for it and don’t have it. Are there other “reasons”, MS related, that would cause this? It has been a week now and everything is blurry and cloudy. No pain to speak of.

Symptoms change. Old ones fade, new ones arise. It may be related to the optic nerves but only someone who can look into your eyes will know, and even then the cause could be in a part of the brain not visible through your eyes. Keep looking for an answer.

Thank you. I went a week ago today to an ophthalmologist and he could not find any reason for the blurriness!😕 Neuro office told me yesterday to complete wash out from Aubagio and if still blurry then to call.

Do follow through, especially if the situation only slightly improves after the wash out.

They should send you for an MRI of the brain. That was my first symptom before diagnosis. I had an infusion of steroids with a taper and my vision slowly came back.

I just had one last month. No new lesions or changes 🎉🎉

That is great news. Hopefully with the washout, your vision will get better. Keep us updated.

I have Nystagmus from a big MS flare a decade ago or so. It causes my vision to be blurry when I look in certain directions. An ophthalmologist would have seen it during your exam because it causes your eyes to jiggle. I also now have a dry eye condition that when it flares up, it causes my vision to blur. It’s not MS related though.

Maybe you need to see a neuro ophthalmologist. They are uniquely specialized and might be able to figure out what’s going in with your vision. They aren’t easy to find though.
