We have all been there... The when the Dr says "You need an MRI" and you cringe inside.. cause you KNOW what's gonna happen!π
You are STUCK ina tube... Laying on the hardest piece of plastic they can find... Head ina cage (optional)π... Saying DON'T MOVE! Only 100 more minutes! π
My question is, what do you think about while you're stuck in the tube?
Me?, I go to the beach! I pretend to hear the waves and smell the ocean π!

I have allergies and sinus drainage the clogs my throat almost every time I get an MRI. I have to cough or swallow and that messes up the MRI. βUh, donβt move please!β I tell them that if I do not swallow I canβt breath!
Since they do not think that it is MS (after 41 years of saying it was) my doctor doesnβt order an MRI very often.
Whenever I'm stuck in an MRI tube for that long session, I end up turning the sounds into a beat/song that gets stuck in my head - in a good way. Not saying it could turn into a "hit single", but it is kind of cool. Unfortunately, no dancing to said beat since you have to stay very still!
I told my neurologist that I was becoming increasingly claustrophobic, so she began prescribing Valium prior to MRIs. Life changer! It canβt hurt to ask.
Adsk for Valium from your Neuroligist and sleep through it. You do not need a high dose, and you may not sleep just be very sedated and still. Do not drive home after make sure you have a lift. No big deal and no need to be scared.
I jam out listening to music. My next mri is 11/23 with no contrast since I have no new liaisons for several years thanks to aubagio. Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo center for brain health has the largest magnification in the western πΊπΈ.
Meditation and making music up in my head with all the banging like a drum song throughout the procedure. Always try to go to your happy place will help. Praying all results are normal.
I used to be able to sleep through it but these days I start thinking about not swallowing or breathing hard or that itch on my nose! My doctor gave me Valium to take last time but I didnβt. I was afraid it would relax me too much and Iβd wet my pants or something! Yes, I can find a million things that could go wrong to think about all at the same time! My last MRI didnβt go too well because they said I breathed too heavy and that my small size even made that more evident. Oi.
π€£π take the valium Tinker-Belle π€£π and do what I do... Figure out how to get out of the tube if you need to! I could get out of that thing in 2.5 secs! Makes me feel better!π€£π€ππ
I just had my second one in a month. I was in there from 7:30 AM to 9:00. (neck and back) Fortunately they have earphones so I listened to Jack Johnson. He's so mellow sounding and easy to relax to.
I had my first MRI back when they were first available, and I think I had an out of body experience! Since then, I have had more of the things than I can count, and I started with meditation many years ago, which would always relax me, and I just zone out and fall asleep. MRI's now are so much faster, quieter and more comfortable ( believe it or not), that now I just put on the headphones, have them
I just rest and don't think of anything specific. My MRI takes a total of 30 minutes. 15 without contrast and 15 minutes with contrast. They give me earplugs to wear. After all of that sound I really am surprised to finish the MRI and still be on the same planet.
I try to meditate and sometimes go away from my body. then time flies. Focusing on your breathing and only your breathing help. Sometimes I escape as a butterfly or a bird and I can visit all the places I ever wanted to go to in the world.
