HAVING A MRI OF LOWER LUMBAR.

can anyone tell me if I can have my head out of the tube and go in feet first?

Having a lot of pressure and cannot stand longer then 45 seconds, Dr. says it is not my MS.

Hi Redlips44 , when I had my hips scanned I went in feet first, also it could depend on the MRI machine they use, because I have had several full spinal ones done where I have gone in head first. Blessings Jimeka

I just had one on lower back and went in head first. They d give you a bolster for your legs so you are not flat. I hope they find your reason for your pain. Mine was L2-L3 collapsed and bone spurs growing into nerve!! Ouch ! Talked a long time to heal.

I had an MRI of my upper and lower spin as well. I was all the way in the tube, head as well. If you have problems with small enclosures...I always close my eyes during the MRI and imagine I'm in a field of flowers with a tree. In that tree is a swing and I swing and run around with my kids. It really helps me.

Let us know what results are.

Best of luck

Steph

REDLIPS44 whenever I have had an MRI, I have always went in head first. They do give you a cushion that goes under your knees before you go into the tube. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thank you all for responding, My Nero said with having the Lumbar I should be able to go feet first but if not this one should only take 45 min. I get sedated with I have the Brain and spine done 2 1/2 hours.

I was just going to reply, but saw this was 4 months ago. Did they let you go feet first? I would love to know because I have lumbar fusion and need MRI's to make sure with age everything is where it belongs. So please let me know! Thanks.
