a unique memorial

this crazy virus has changed everything, including funerals.my favorite aunt passed away a few days ago from cancer.she passed in the hospital and they could only have 2 people for her last breath.the funeral home brought her home and laid her in her bed for 2 days so all of her children and grandchildren could say goodbye they then had a family dinner cooked in her kitchen.i did not go i live too far away(i don't know how i thought about this)but it does go back to the old days,i remember families having their family member laid out in their living room(now i am a young 65)so she is being cremated but i asked what i could do for them, and they answered send a package of flower sends, they are growing a memorial garden with the seeds and love from all,i will send a package of forget me nots, she will be missed

I'm sorry about the loss of your aunt and sorry that we aren't allowed to perform the usual ceremonies that seem to help us grieve. The flowers that grow will have a lovely significance, however.

You're in my prayers.

sorry for your loss.

I don't know why I recall families having their loved ones in the home for funerals and family gatherings but I do for some reason

It maybe from the movies I don't know. I do watch really old movies from the 30's to the present on TCM (turner classic movies channel) My sister always ask me why are you watching those movies

I'm not old enough to have a true memory of it because I will be a half a century (50) on Saturday June 20

Happy birthday early. I remember movies showing the person being laid in their homes.
