The last few days, I have felt gloomy, and I feel terrible and guilty about it during this most joyous time of the year when I'm usually happier than a 5 year old on Christmas Eve. We have our trials, family who still think we can handle "everything" on our worse days, insurance debacles etc. But this evening while picking up the cutest gift for my 2 year old granddaughter, the kindest sweetest lady waited on me at Lord and Taylor.. She was so engaging with previous customers and took the time to walk around and find a gift box for me. During our exchange of conversation, I told her how greatly I appreciated her time and patience, she shared that she was also a nurse and being kind is just "what I love to do -God has blessed me so." You see, she shared with me that Lord and Taylor was her second job, she had just purchased a brand new home because her son was tragically murdered in her old neighborhood and she could not take living around the memories and was about to retire shortly! We hugged for about five minutes and I told her I wish her all the happiness and joy God will send her way. Love and People Do Make the World Go Round!

God sends those wonderful experiences just when we need them. Thank you for sharing that lovely interaction. I hope it lifts your spirits as much as hearing it did mine.

You know you always think you have it bad but you look around and there is always some one that has it worse than you. Some thing to think about. But I do understand your pain. Feel better ππ

Yes stepsforNeeC people do indeed make the world go round! Thank you for sharing this poignant story, and it indeed brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you for sharing, and you, as well as this lovely lady, will be in my prayers.
stepsforNeeC Yours is a lovely story, one we can all connect with on so many levels. Smiles are so powerful, so healing. Reminding me: Thursday at the surgeon's office, a young mother stood next to me at the receptionist. Her baby was wrapped snugly in a car seat/carrier/cradle. All I could see of baby were tiny fists and shoe button eyes, alert and bright. Mom smiled at me, pulled back a corner of the blanket and her baby smiled, the most amazing smile, communicating his trust in the world and how well he is loved. If only all of us could keep our innocence and smile at one another.
