From memories to mindful moments

Mindfulness is the new trendy word for living in the moment -no past or future worries. Couldn't help but post this "moment" in today's beginning (at 3 pm when finally crawled out of bed). My cognitive failure caused me to forget to put the top on the Virta mixer when making my 5 fruits and veggies (greens of course) smoothie so I could take my DMT with food. If you blow it up the green slime all over walls, floor, cabinets, clothes and feet are really quite hilarious! Cognitive failure can cause momentous moments! I didn't get a hug of comfort from the boss man but he did start helping with the clean up! Needless to say, my day was ruined again! Lol. The green and blue were pretty color combination don't you think?

What a mess. One of those times you just have to take lufe innstride and not get upset over it. Evidently you took it well. Not so sure if the man/boss in the background did.

Hidden well he did jump in help and when I said the MS friends will laugh at this one! he did stop and take the picture! After he left, though, I had to "reclean" everything with pinesol cause it was so sticky (had pineapple in it). He used plain water. But I'm learning NOT to tell him how to properly clean (he washes darks and lights together!) but if I say anything gently his response is "you wants do it?" Before retirement he was a coal mine manager over 300 union coal miners and 30 years of that affected his personality. Sometimes I tell him "stop using your coal miners voice! I am your wife not a union coal miners" and try to laugh. But the worse the MS gets, even after 45 years of marriage it is definitely changing our relationship. And that breaks my heart. He had to be the tough guy to hold that dangerous and controversial and argumemental (the union guys , he was Company) and that shaped his personality. Now with the right brain damage progressing we are not quite so "in love" Thank God we are both dedicated to our vows and trying to stay together. I have already told him if he can't take it put me in a nursing home! Lol. But he is a Godly gentleman and is trying.

He sounds like a good man in spite of his and your changes in health. He evidently wants to be helpful. Nice to hear preople who stay true to their marriage vows when things get tough. As you well know we all have our challenges in marriage and tend to get stuck in our ways, and are very good at pushing each others buttons even though in our hearts we don't want to. Maybe bring him a chunk of coal to sniff now and then. It may help calm him 😀

Hidden very funny! It would probably make him think he’s in coal mines and really start bossing me around!!! Lol

Oh agapepilgrim , I could so see myself doing something like what you did! I always wonder what's wrong with me when I stand by the coffee maker waiting for my coffee and I never pushed the button😂. I have a lot of "blond" moments everyday. Sometimes funny/sometimes embarrassing.

Juleigh21 LMHO! Yep, society gonna have to change the blonde jokes to MS jokes. Let's see: how many MSers dies it take to change the light bulb? One to hold the ladder, one that can climb steps and be on the ladder, one to fetch the lightbulb that the other 2 forgot, and one with cognition to keep reminding them what they are doing! Yep- 4 of us!!!😂

Oh, agapepilgrim , I cringed when I first saw the pic. 😬 But what a great attitude and help from hubby. They do try, don't they? 😉 Not sure I got a laugh out of it, but a chuckle? Yep! Been there and done that. Sorry it was your turn! But pretty colors! 💕

@agapepilgrim

Thank you for sharing your MS moment with us. I am so sorry your day started this way! 😫

Kudos to you, though, for your healthy diet choices 🥗, and for your ability to laugh when life throws you these absurdly trying moments. (Of course the goo couldn’t just land on the counter...And you know you will find splats of green in the farther reaches of your kitchen for weeks to come, no matter how well you think you’ve cleaned! Just as a reminder of today’s mishap. Aarrhgh!)

Sending hugs 🤗 and hoping the rest of your day is peaceful and uneventful!

Nom_De_Plume yes I started to get angry but then thank God I remembered you and a few others that have complimented my sense of memory and immediately I said Frank get my phone and take a Pic - MS forum will love this one and it was ridiculously funny for a few minutes. And Frank started cleaning and singing “til the storm passes over, til the thunder rolls no more” and I thought, yes, in Heaven because the storm only gets worse for us!! But I did get depressed rest of day! Probably due to not enough good! Lol thanks, Lisa, for encouragement! Now you no longer have a pen name - you are Lisa!!

@agapepilgrim

Yes, you have a great sense of humor, especially in the face of adversity (and absurdity!). Some things are so ridiculous that you just have to laugh 😆. You couldn’t make this stuff up. It’s better than a sitcom. Of course, no one wants this to be real life, but, sadly, it is, and humor goes a long way toward diffusing the situation and keeping us sane!! 😳

Thank you for the belly laugh, above. We can all relate to how there is one calamity after another!

Yes, I guess I’m “outed,” without a pen name...and Nom _De_Plume is such a pain in the neck to type! (Sorry guys!) I don’t want to change my moniker altogether though because that would mess up other things. Sigh. What to do?

Anywho, have a great week ahead folks!!
