All 3 girls have crossed rainbow bridge now, but they all got along very well. Stormie was the oldest, and the boss! She kept the other 2 inline if they played to rough. Stormie is the fawn in the front, then Magic the brindle girl, and Zoe is the fawn/white in the back. Stormie was a foster that never found a home so she lived out her days with me. She had one lady who inquired about her but she inquired about all the dogs at one point or another. And of course she inquired while I was in the process of getting my new home in 2006 (before MS dx later that year). Zoe was 13 when she passed, Magic was 10 years when she passed, and we didn't know an exact age on Stormie but she was probably about 12 or so when she passed.

Thanks Kenu . They were all great dogs that got along so well. If 2 of them wanted to squabble all I had to do was raise my voice and say 'ahhhh' and they stopped. Best group of dogs I ever had. Zoe and my current dog got along great when Caddie came to live with me. Zoe never had a problem with any dog she ever met
I have a neighbor she had one boxer and when I would go to her house her son at the time was about 17 years old would yell out Sandy’s in the house get the dog she’ll nock her over, but once I was sitting down she would come over to me and put her head on my lap. I think dogs are more intuned in what is going on with people than people are if you know what I mean.
ssdw1958 dogs are the best!! Zoe was very intuned to people and knew exactly when she could be crazy and rough or had to be nice and calm. She LOVED kids and PUPPIES!!
Jesmcd2 Boxers are great dogs. They do need a lot of exercise...mental and physical...especially when young. Perpetual puppies for life and don't become an actual adult until like 3 years old because they are so goofy and some more than others like to get into mischief Not trying to talk you out of boxers, just have know what you are getting into first (with any breed you really should do research first
bxrmom hahaha no one said we are getting one! 😄 What he wants and what he gets are completely different things!!m lolol We would get a 'divorce ' and I would kill him! We have completely different training techniques. 😄 And let's just say, he would be gone and then I would have 2 pups!😄 🐕
I just say one thing don’t mess with this woman, and I don’t mean this in a bad way, I mean she knows what she wants and she’s going to get what she means.
Nom_De_Plume I do love the breed, just not the medical problems that they are plagued with. But I love their goofiness that always makes you smile. They are pretty much kids for life lol
My neighbor had a dog with this breed and it is unbelievable how dogs know if someone is not feeling well. What I mean about this is that her dog was sitting under the table and came right to me and rested his head on my lap. It like he knew I was not feeling well. I would like to have a dog but my husband is allergic to dogs that would not work at all.
I have had boxers since I was in elementary school so 40+ years now. I’ve spent the last four years fostering boxers when our last one passed away. I would still be fostering for the rescue, but I had begun to think it was unfair, as my caregiver’s do 98% of the work. But I get a huge percentage of the wiggle butts love! I have put my name in with the rescue and said I could take anyone’s dog when on vacation or have an emergency. It seems like that’s the best solution, my need to still love and have boxers around, and the need of the breed!
I so miss them, your description of the breed is accurate. Although I don’t think they grow up until about five years old. When I was fostering I had adults and seniors unfortunately no more pups for me.
Someday I will post a couple pictures of our personal dogs!
Some of them don't grow up until later in life, just depends on the individual dog lol Bless you for fostering as fosters are always needed but understand why you stopped. Very thoughtful and nice of you to offer to watch them when people are on vacation or in an emergency. Look forward to your pictures
