March's quilt

I finished quilting & binding the top I made in February. This one was made from my husband's old shirts. The backing & batting are from extra fabric & battibg from outher quilt projects. The only thing I had to buy was thread! My next quilt is about half way done but it's being interrupted by making masks for hospitals & a Lioness Lions project. I have about 40 more masks to go but waiting on elastic to get here. In the mean time the sun is out & working on the garden. By the way if it wasn't for Ocrevus I wouldn't Be able to get all this stuff done. Be safe everyone!

It’s wonderful, and you used what you had! It must feel like quite an accomplishment! Are you keeping this?

The hospitals I’ve contacted have been saying that they have enough masks, so I stopped before I started. I saw a directory of nursing homes and other places that may still need some, so I may yet make some!

Hurrah for you!

How beautiful! And from repurposed shirts! That's awesome! I just got an email this morning about making masks for the local medical people. I have not begun but will shortly. For anyone else interested following is the location of a pattern: courierpressblogs.com/pdf/h... OK, sewers, let's do this!

My niece in Illinois asked me to make some, so I’m using up all that batik fabric I bought for practicing quilting.

Good for you! I just found out that my masks just left town & on their way to New Mexico and Virginia.

That's great. Are you planning to make more? Is anyone getting feedback about the need for more? I made 8 yesterday in a very short amount of time, since I tend to work in assembly line mode.

Yes. The person I am making them for is coordinating it all with her daughter & I think she had an order for 500. We ran out of elastic around here. She ordered some but it won't be here until 4/1. I do mine in assembly line too. The quilting thing kicked in!😷

I've heard from many folks that they can't find any elastic right now. Bias tape is gone, too. I'm just making ties from fabric.

I take it your husband likes pink shirts? Can I buy him some purple ones then when he has finished with them you can make me a quilt? That is gorgeous, I love how you have finished it around the edges. Great job 👍good job with the masks too

There's actually no pink in it. It's red & white checks, red-white-blue plaid, greys, blacks & some light brown. Purple is his favorite color & he wouldn't let me have those! The quilt I'm making for my bed is different shades of purple with African violet print that was pillow covers that I ordered that came in to small. I loved the print ^ kept them knowing I would make that quilt someday.

Just trying to do more than just pray everyday at 8 pm. If you haven't heard about out at 8 pm people all over are praying for all people in the medical field, first responders, fire & police. And all the volunteers that pout their lives on the line to help everyone in need.
