This old pattern of the angel's wings is Dresden Plate. The wings come from a quilt someone made with love. I appreciate the way some woman used old dress fabrics to construct something useful and beautiful for a home; then admire my sister's creativity in taking something no longer useful and making it new again. Now, the angel speaks to me of so many stories every time I pass by. And it's the stories that are powerful, not the object. The same is true for your quilts, greaterexp. Some child wrapped in one of your quilts will fall asleep wandering a verdant forest in the company of dinosaurs, or soaring through skies on a kite, or listening to the purr of kittens. Each quilt has a tale to unfold.

Yes, @goatgal, every quilt does indeed have a story. Does this angel have a label to document the maker, the time that it was made, who it was made for and what inspired the maker to create her? The label is a good way to document all this for future generations. What a beautiful angel she is! Thank you for sharing this photo and story with the forum.
Isn't that lovely? I've used some old quilts that were far too shredded to be saved in whole and made other things with them. It's terrific to use to what's left to save at least part of that hard work and love. Thank you for posting that. The maker of that quilt would be so pleased.
I love it goatgal ! I'm so glad that you have her, and can listen to the stories she has to tell! π€ππ
