You can get a caregiver. My sister is mine.

You can get a nurse

You can ask your insurance

REDLIPS44 , since you're in the US, your state may have state-funded in-home care but how much of it you can have depends on what state you're in--and the rules change from time to time too. I haven't heard of a state that funds in-home care 24/7, though. In WA and OR, there is state-funded in-home care but there's a maximum number of hours per month that doesn't add up to round-the-clock care. You might be able to arrange 2 caregives, each doing 8-hour shifts, and for the other 8 hours, you might be able to get along without a caregiver (while you'd be asleep) or with a live-in person (a relative or someone else who would be paid).

Also, your insurance might provide for better arrangements than the state would.

For about 17 years I had a neighbor (right across the hall) who was in a power chair due to MS, couldn't stand or walk or use his voice, and had only very limited use of one hand. He got along with one caregiver 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. On evenings and weekends he was on his own. I believe he slept in his recliner when the caregiver wasn't there to transfer him. There was a lift for his bed but of course he couldn't operate it.

This was NOT ideal but he did get along. It's a difficult problem if you need someone there 24/7. Most people I've known who have faced it have had to pay quite a lot of money for the care. VERY unfortunately.

Sometimes doctor’s offices and hospitals have information they can pass on to you about those services. Some county offices have that information, too, as well as seniors sites.

You can get home health just ask your doctor or your insurance. There are also nursing homes if you feel you want to go that route. I would suggest getting home health or a nurse to come to your home to help you.

There is a service here in New England that advertises on tv called Visiting Angels and they have a web site visitingangels.com. Perhaps they might have something that will suit your needs. I don’t have any recommendation for them other than what I have seen on tv. I would also try your senior center to see if they can recommend anything that might be available to you. I will be thinking of you and hoping that you find something that will be suitable for you.

Your dr office, the hospital & your insurance should be able to tell you what is available in your area. Each state is different concerning health care so there is no exact answer. Praying you get the help you need.
