Disability question

Am considering disability as am finding it harder and harder to keep up even tho have cut hours down to 15 per week. I am wondering a few things. Does anybody know how much you can work while on disability or does it go by hours worked?? Also, as you start the process, are there rules for how much you have been working prior to applying??? Any help would be appreciated. Thx

I have been on disability since 2006. I dropped my hours, too (20 per week) & still the fatigue was terrible. My primary md started the process for me with state disibility. I think it depends on what state you live in. I'm in California & it really wasn't bad. The hardest part was after 1 year changing over to Social Security Disability. Try your primary doctor, hopefully he or she can help. Good luck...👍😏

Good morning 🌞

I am in the process of disability waiting too—-

My understanding is that it is a dollar 💵 amount, not hours amount.

Then very confusing, how they figure the disability amount—-based on “quarter time frame worked”

And then throw in Coronavirus now and I am in a “hurry up and wait mode” now!

I would much rather be employed, then going through this. But not an option right now!

Best wishes and prayers 🙏 to you.

Question: I thought the amount you would get paid is what is in your social security information packet that comes out yearly. Is it NOT that??? This is soooo confusing and hard to find the correct answers

Well, I am no expert and I agree, very confusing stuff! I also worked for the railroad for 13 years, so I also am dealing with them!!

Whole different thing but still on hold, because of the damn virus!

Meanwhile I wait.....

Not sure 🤔 for how long I can survive without any income or ability to work!

Very, very frustrating and stressful—-which doesn’t help anything.

Sorry 😐 for my rant—-

I pray that you have better results than I am seeing 🙏

I know you can work some hours,I don't know how many.it will depend on the report your dr. sends them, talk to dr. it also depends how many hours you have worked in your lifetime for dollar amt.but not how much you can still work. go to social security .gov it will give you info on disability best to you
