Day 5

Today makes day 5 and is my last day on IV Steroids. I felt worse yesterday. My legs hurt so bad and felt so weak that I could barely stand. When I tried to walk through the store I didn't last long, but I tried. It was like having spaghetti noodles for legs. Normally it is my left side that goes out and gives problems but not anymore. My left eye goes out during lapses not only is it out but it hurt in which caused a migraine on the left side of my head. There is still only 3 hrs of sleep at night. When I get off of the steroids I am going to crash hard because I have been on Prednisone for over a month and now the IV steroids. I have major brain fog. It's like being light headed and takes a moment before you realize what is going on around you. I know everyone is different but does anyone else experience stuff like this while on the IV treatments?

Do you know if they’re going to taper you off after today? I’ve only had IV steroids once but I wasn’t given a taper and I don’t know if that would have helped. I don’t remember having trouble sleeping during the treatment. My problem came after the last day—swollen lymph nodes, especially at the base of my skull (never knew they existed until then 😩) and felt very ill for a couple days. I hope others can give you more info.

Same here Kenu Had iv infusions for 3 days and then a 5-day taper. I just thought it was the protocol for everyone who had to have solumederal. Guess it isn't.

I would ask the prescribing neurologist about an oral taper. Keep us posted!

I’ve had 3 day steroids at home 2 times and never been given a taper but that’s just my Dr.

I'm sorry it's so rough right now. You're in my thoughts and prayers to start feeling better quickly. I don't know how you manage to write right now, but thanks for letting us know.

My hands are still good a little sore from the arthritis but my physical therapist said because I crochet and have for years that is why I can still use my hands. I can still see from my right eye so that makes me happy. Thank you

I haven't done steroids with an IV but have taken them orally for about a week, peaking with the dose midweek then tapering off.

It was an unpleasant experience-for everyone around me.

I myself, thought it was alright to act like a rabid badger.

I had IV steroids for 5 days once. They just stopped it when it was done with no taper. I felt much better from it. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Sounds horrible!
