5 months since start of mavenclad

I started this journey with you all beside me. Thank you for that. As you know I had some problems after starting mavenclad. After all the throat infections cleared up I felt just yucky and fatigued. This last week and a half I have had more energy. To give you some perspective; I did my laundry which is a normal thing to do but this time I got it out of the dry, folded it and put it away all on the same day. It was only 2 loads but I haven't done that in a very long time unless it was a single load and a small one. I also have been working in my yard trimming around the fence line it has just been an hour a day and I was sitting to do the work but I did it and it felt good. I still can't mow my yard without getting extremely fatigued and that is not doing the whole yard. But I have my son to help with that. I am so excited and encouraged by all this and I can't wait to see how well I handle the summer heat and humidity. I will be going for my blood work next month. I am hoping that they will be right where they should be. Rue has been a blessing I have lost 8 pounds since I have gotten her and I average walking a mile a day and active about an hour a day. I am still crocheting like crazy and have gotten alot of hats, scarfs and prayer shawls made. I thank you all for you support and encouragement I will continue to update you. You all stay healthy and vigilant through this time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers

That's great news! I'm just tickled pink at the progress you're enjoying. It's been a long process, but one I hope has been worth it. I'm so grateful you continue to post your results. Thank you!

This has been an interesting journey and I am so glad that I can inform everyone how this medication has worked in me. I hope that anyone considering this medication will do as well as I have. Just remember that everyone is different and I have read other people's experiences and some have not done so well. Please anyone thinking of taking this medication do your research talk with your doctor. Your welcome and I hope for the best for us all

My neurologist offered Mavenclad as a treatment option for my secondary MS. But, I’m 74 years old and a little apprehensive about it.

I was concerned about it at first but being 62 and have tried 3 different medications after going off of one that was working for me for 16 years. I had to stop that medication because of side effects that were a problem. I have decided that I will go this route but I will not go on any other medication after this. I will treat my symptoms and look at natural remedies. I hope the best for you

That is wonderful news 😃

Thanks for responding and giving me your perspective. Yes, I think I will just keep exercising and keep my Baclofen pump for spasticity. Age 74 seems too old to start a new treatment with possible side effects that could affect my organs. I get around with a walker, can still drive and liked to swim before all the pandemic shutdowns. Hope you continue to be satisfied with the treatment.

You're welcome. I just want to be helpful and I don't want anyone to do anything without knowing all the facts and just because I am doing good so far doesn't mean that someone else will. Like I said if I start having problems after year 2 of this I will just treat my symptoms and I will look for natural remedies. Best wishes for you

Awesome! Progress always feels so good to us even if it's a bit of energy to do a couple of loads of laundry, but that bit of energy to most of us feels like we just climbed the highest mountain and still have the energy to climb back down. So congrats to you!

Starting my second dose next week. I am excited that you are excited! When I had asked you about it you weren't really feeling it. 😖

Sorry I can't remember that but I was worried and the problems I was have right after finishing week 1 was not good. Since I am past all that and I realize that it could of been worse I am more focused on being more positive. I hope the best for you.
