And it just stinks sometimes! But mind over matter! I mind, but my neck matters more!
Surgery is scheduled for Oct 14 th. Really don't understand why they have to fix what's not broke! Like friggin seriously!
Tomorrow I have to go get fitted for my neck brace. Oh and here's a good one! HA! I'm supposed to wear it? Like when I'm in a car? At home, walking. Cause any kind of whiplash, falling, pulling, lifting, can f*** me up?
News to me.π€£ππ I really don't have time for this! But I didn't smoke! π Win!
Love y'all π€π

Congrats!! What an accomplishment! Another day down smoke free!ππππ once all the nicotine is out of your system it should get easier to not want one.
I can understand you being scared. You do your part and they will do theirs and we will pray for a great outcome. And I know you have a lot of support here praying for you too. xoxo
Jesmcd2 I am doing fairly well. My issue currently is a pain in the neck! Really! Have had nerve block shots 2 x's now, but need another set to block pain in the lesser occipital nerve in my neck. It wraps around the ear and goes down into the neck area. I'm taking gabapentin, but it doesn't go away, just backs down a little while. Need to call to get shots. Dr. says it is unrelated to MS, just something that happens. With MS, doing well except when I don't get enough sleep, which is frequently, and overworking when I do. Whatever! We just have to keep on keeping on! I am praying for your surgery, and a fast recovery.
Congratulations! My husband says it's very hard to go 5 days. If you need any tips, please let me know, and I will ask him. He has not had a cigarette in 30 years, and he still wants one today. The hardest thing he's ever done.
You will make it! Keep it up, you are strong. If you can wake up every day with MS you can beat the nicotine habit. Take it one day at a time and before you know it you will be passed the hard part.
I used to teach cosmetology and we would get some students that were going through some hard times. I used to stand them in front of the mirror and ask them who they saw and how they felt about that person. Then I would tell them that who they see isn't who others see (their answers were usually negative). Others see a wonderful caring, loving person. Each day before class they were to look in the mirror and tell that person they see that they love her/him and they were to do the same before leaving for the day. After about a week I could see small changes in their attitudes and eventually they learned to love themselves and their self-esteem and confidence went up. It really works for whatever you are trying to get through, even quitting smoking. Try it and let me know how you are doing in a week.
Congratulate yourself each day you get through without a smoke. You are doing great!
Earlier this year I helped my 71-year-old aunt for a few weeks following her neck surgery. It was a different surgery than yours but she also had to wear a neck brace. She didnβt like it but she wore it grumbling about it every day. If she can get through it, I know you can. Her doctor let her take the brace off for short periods of time around week 2. She would sometimes overdo it and then her neck would bother her. It really is important to wear the brace to stabilize your neck while itβs healing. You can do this!!
