Ampyra Positive effect

I’ve taken ampyra 5 days now and when i walked with my husband yesterday and our dogs he (husband) said it looked like my foot was dragging less!! It was still hard to walk right but i started noticing that it was easier to walk without foot drop! Im sure my shoes appreciate that too 😁

When my alarm went off for me to take my ampyra pill last night i was in the midst of a cooking fiasco and then forgot until it became too late so i missed the dose last night and i noticed a pretty big difference in that i felt more uncoordinated and unbalanced when walking

Sounds like it is working! When I miss taking one I notice a difference also. Good luck and happy walking.

that's great.

as for when your alarm went off and you didn't take it that you can still take it later

I have a preset time as well and I have missed that time several time and I have taken it several hours later. I have also taken it early because I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it later

here is what I'm talking about my preset time is 5am and 5pm . My morning pill I have taken it at 3am because I knew I wasn't going to be able to do it at 5am.

I have also taken it later because I just completely forgot. Now my evening pill I can't tell you how many times I have taken it at various times. You should just make sure to take it that day.

I have talked to my dr on how I would miss my preset time for pills and how I would still take it and she told me that it was fine as long as it was taken that day not the next day

My husband said that, that he was sure there was a couple of hours grace period. But I didn’t want to get off my schedule and if i took it late then i would have to take it later in the morning. So you’re saying your doc agreed there is a grace period? I thought i saw that seizure potential increased if you took too much ampyra at one time

You don't take it all at one time if you miss a dose but you do gave a grace period. But if it's time for your next one just don't do the missed one.

I know when I refill mine one of the questions they ask is if you missed a dose

Yes i was talking about doing it late for the p.m. dose but stiill taking it regular time in the a.m. So having a lot in my system at one time, as opposed to taking a lot at one time. But i will reach out to my doctor to ask her opinion

Thank you!

You are so lucky. Ampyra did nothing for me.

Yes my plan was to take it as soon as i got the cooking issue resolved but i then forgot. It wasn’t really that bad. Just not routine yet.

Thank you!!
