I just wanted to breathe for a minute. I had posted earlier that I was going to start Ocrevus months ago. Quick synapses of what happened to stop my journey.
Many fiascos with my new nuerologist before this.
Kept reading about the hep b test so I called to make sure that they had done this. No. So rush 5 days before infusion to get.
Called infusion center day before to make sure everything is going well. They said no. Long story on this. Didn't order medicine correctly.
Called neurologist why this happened can't do the infusion.
Neurologist actually got on the phone saying blah then he paused. He never looked at the hepatitis b work. He then informed me that I had hep b and he had Called infusion center to stop it. BS.
Very long story short I have b antibodies not hep b. I really thought that I had active acute or chronic b.
My husband got tested and has never been exposed. So good thing I wasn't being critical.
You have no idea all the hopes dashed. The ultimate in why would I even want to get out of bed but did any way. So many how/why/way.
I'm really breathing again. Thanks for listening!

SometimesCrazy i don't know what to say. So many of us are let down by the medical professionals. There are plenty of good ones out there, it's just finding one and when you do, stick with them. I am sorry that you have had a few rough months, it sometimes feels as though no one is listening, but we on this forum are always here. We may not have all the answers but we are an understanding, caring, listening group. So go ahead and vent, cry, laugh, whatever is best for you. Blessings Jimeka 🦋 🌈 🤗 🍫
SometimesCrazy I'm waiting for my results to come back so I can start Ocrevus. So, does having antibodies to Hepatitis mean that you have had it at some point in your life?
I had to wait to see a GI who is the specialist for hepatitis. At the same time I did scan for my liver. I spoke with the technician. She told me she will test positive because of her vaccination. I can't imagine an infusion being made that wouldn't include most of the population because we are vaccinated. I just think the neurologist is an idiot and was CYAing (cover your butte) himself. I think you and I are just fine!!!
Gi doctor was out Friday and I just found out if I was not active. I asked that the doctor let me know if it was by vaccine or by natural infection. I'm looking at the original hep b lab report that my neurologist received and it's showing by vaccine according to this. I guess it really only matters that I not be active but it did . That's not really very cool at all.
Idk what the antibodies mean. I had vaccines for help b it takes, 2-3 I can't remember, would vaccine cause antibodies no idea. I hope they figure it out for you
I don't think some doctors take the time to learn about the vaccines/infusions and they just spout what they want/think. SometimesCrazy I'm sorry you are being put through all this. I hope that you be able to get your infusion at some point in the near future. Maybe a new neuro is in order?
